I am an award winning professional photographer, videographer and visual communicator with over 25 years experience in editorial, corporate and politics both in Australia and the UK. For the last 2 years I have been the Social Media Advisor and content producer for the NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and before that the Official Photographer for Prime Minister Turnbull. I documented his time in office both in photos and video, including all his engagements on the world stage. He is an expert in the visual marketing of his subjects promoting them through various social media platforms. He has a demonstrated history of working in the media across platforms, video production, storytelling, social media. On top of the historical documentation of the Turnbull Prime Ministership, his photographic work includes portraiture of many Australian and International icons. He has documented the refugee crisis in Croatia during the Yugoslavian civil war, the northern migration of the Humpback whale along the east coast of NSW and the discovery of the 'Hobbit' remains on the island of Flores, Indonesia. Sahlan was a participating artist in the National Portrait Gallery's 'Flash Australian Athletes in Focus' 2006, 'Glossy 2: Faces, Magazines 2005-2006 and a number of his portraits of Australian chefs were included in the NPG's exhibition 'Masters of Fare: Chefs, Winemakers, Providores 2004'. Hayes' portrait of Margaret Whitlam won the 2005 Nikon Walkley Photographic Portrait Prize. He has been a finalist in numerous national photographic awards and his work has been seen in many newspapers and magazines for more than two decades.
